From a pile of images to one sendable document
Merging images into a PDF solves a recurring workflow problem: email attachments that only accept one file, print jobs that need pages in order, expense reports that require receipts in sequence, and submissions that specify a single upload. A PDF also freezes the page size - the recipient's screen, printer or CMS cannot reflow or crop your images the way a website might.
Order and page size are the two settings to decide before exporting. Arrange images in reading order first; PDFs are unforgiving about reordering after creation. For page size, match the images (each page exactly fits its image) when the PDF is a record of screenshots or scans, or use A4/Letter when it must be printed or submitted to a form. Keep images embedded at original resolution: PDF viewers scale down gracefully, but detail already lost to re-compression never comes back.
